Whilst staying in Ubud, a friend and I took the short drive to Warung Pesantian based on a recommendation. We were not disappointed! The food was exceptional - the best in Bali by far! Ingredients are locally sourced and lovingly prepared by Chef and owner, Sandika, who was keen share his recipes and cooking methods. I had the slow cooked pork ribs which melted off the bone, topped with a sweet and spicy sauce. My friend had the grilled local freshwater fish which was also cooked to perfection. Flavours were beautifully balanced with traditional Balinese salads. The location is beautiful, set amongst the rice paddies and it's a great place to stop for lunch on the way to tourist attractions in Tampaksiring.
